what you need to know (cont’d)

There are a few things that need to be in place before you begin to take serious steps forward in your music career, otherwise you would be wasting your time beating a dead horse...

  1. Are you willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen? Obviously, you need to know exactly what you want to make happen in order to answer that question. Helping you clearly and confidently know your goals and values is our first priority when working with you.

  2. If the band does not share the same goals and values (why you do what you do, where you want to take the band and why), then the band will be one big frustration, and should not be together. We know that this can be hard to hear, but know that you can all grow into this. This is a big part of what we help you to do. At least a couple of you, as the natural leaders of the band, must get on the same page. One of the main rules of a lasting and successful business is that you first have all the right people on the bus, then decide the where and how. And yes, your music career is a business - it is viewed in the law as such, by record labels as such, and you will go far by treating it as such.

  3. Your mindset is the most important thing. You must be willing to grow on a personal level, do whatever it takes, and know that you're not putting on a show, but running a business. We will not work with you unless you are actively seeking growth on a personal and professional level. It would be a fruitless venture for the both of us.

  4. You must be willing to put your blood, sweat, and tears into the goals and values you have set for yourself as a professional musician. This means your money too (not just for promos, cds, and merch, but also for books, training, and development). Many bands fail because they are not willing to put their money and time into learning and doing what it really takes. If each of you cannot invest at least 1 hour a day, 5 days a week, into growing yourself and your career, you simply do not have what it takes mentally to be a highly successful professional. And, if each member of the band cannot find a way to put at minimum $25 a week into your career, you probably shouldn't even be going into the music business. You will come across far greater challenges in your career than 5 hours and $25 a week.

We know it seems like we are repeating ourselves. We cannot stress enough the importance of your serious commitment to your career. You may be passionate about your music, but this is not the same as being serious about your professional music career.

We help musicians to know themselves, their business, and their direction, with clarity, focus, confidence, and the drive to move forward. No entrepreneur such as yourself has ever built a truly successful business by doing it on their own.

Our [products] and [services] provide a clear, forward moving structure for you, where you're no longer doing it all on your own.
